If you don't have a car and don't like to walk - no worries! The public bus system is cheap, VERY easy to use and goes everywhere. Don't have a car, don't like to walk, don't like the bus...that's ok too. There is a convenience store and small liquor store right across the street!
A 30 minute drive south (or an easy and inexpensive bus trip) will take you to Merida, known as the "White City". Merida is the beautiful capital of the state of Yucatan. In Merida you will find great restaurants, lovely parks, many interesting museums, wonderful architecture, abundant shopping, movie theaters, etc...
