Tjis is the quieter side of Grand Cayman! Some amenities on site at the Morritts Tortuga: 2 pools, one with poolside bar; scuba diving operation with 2 boats on the virgin walls of Grand Cayman's east end; windsurfing operation; wave runners, sailboats, snorkel equipment; gourmet restaurant; exercise room; social programs for children & adults, brand new dock with bar. This is a two bedroom townhouse, sleeps six unit with 2 queen beds, living room with queen sofa bed, kitchen, dining area, and veranda. Steps from the unit are David's (gourmet) restaurant & bar, Mimi's brand new bar on the water, & of course, the beach. Windsurfing & dive shops are right there. Snorkeling under the dock is fantastic! Temperatures are always in the mid-80''s with a constant breeze. Grand Cayman is a British island, so the language is English. Currency is Cayman dollar, although there is little need to exchange.
Grand Cayman lies just south of Cuba. The Morritts is 26 miles from Georgetown, the island's capital. Georgetown, though a very small town, holds some of the world's largest caches of banked money. Cruise ships come to port a few times per week. Seven Mile Beach on the west end is the busier strip of hotels and beaches. The Turtle Farm and other West End sites are within about 45 minutes. North of the Morritts is Rum Point and the site of Sting Ray City, the most famed water tourist spot in the Western Hemisphere. You can scuba dive or snorkel to see the rays, & arrangements can be made at the resort to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime thrill. The Botanical Gardens is also in that same area. Sunset cruises, deep sea fishing, & other water activities are available right from the resort, or from Rum Point. This time-share townhouse is on 2 levels with full kitchen & living area downstairs, bedrooms up. There are two giant grocery stores in Georgetown, & now a mini grocery store opened across the street from the Morritts..very convenient!
