About Treasure Beach

Treasure Beach is public beach in a small village on the South coast of Jamaica. It falls in the parish of St Elizabeth. The name Treasure Beach is used to refer to a group of farming hamlets and coastal fishing villages: Calabash Bay, Frenchman's Bay, Fort Charles, Billy's Bay and Great Bay. The beauty of the place is that  each of these hamlets boast their own unique beach. Treasure Beach has a narrow strip of black and yellow-red sands and is about 600 meters long. The landscape is dry savanna, dotted with trees such as blue-flowering lignum vitae (ironwood), pink and yellow poui. Thinly vegetated with scrub and cactus, it has a unique visual appeal.

The region is isolated from the main tourist areas, and minor roads connect with the main highway at Black River or Santa Cruz. If you are seeking a very quiet seaside location, you can search for Treasure Island Vacation Rentals or Jamaica Vacation Rentals.

Treasure Beach attracts an array of visitors - from fashion models to backpackers - even though it is just a ramshackle fishing area on Jamaica's southeast coast. The YS Waterfalls is a great swimming hole in Treasure Beach. A tractor ride to the falls can give you an up close and personal view of the fields filled with cotton, cedar trees and guango trees. A leisurely trip down Guts River will be a great experience. Wild dolphin spotting, snorkeling, and trips to Pelican Bar, Black River, and The Great Morass, Sunny Isle and Alligator Pond/Guts River are some of the options for vacationers here.
