About Vacation Rentals in Del Mar

Del Mar is roughly 20 minutes north of downtown San Diego. With calm salt water lagoons on each end, Del Mar is a laid back town that is is best known for it's fabulous beaches and its fine weather, the county fair, the thoroughbred racetrack, and shopping. Del Mar offers an oasis of unhurried, yet civilized, living.  Swimming, surfing, sailing, and sand castle building are only a few of the tempting things to do in Del Mar. The village hosts 25 restaurants, many providing outside patios overlooking the ocean.

For decades, the summer racing season has brought crowds to Del Mar. With two miles of coastline and its gentle waves, Del Mar's has become famous among beachgoers as an ideal destination, and among surf combers and surfers seeking the California surf, along with such other destinations as Carlsbad and Coronado. There's even a sliver of beach for dogs here. Del Mar's main beach is the only such beach in the county that offers wheel chair access and special wheelchairs designed for the sand.
 
Seagrove Park and Powerhouse Park are ideal locations for a picnic, or for walking your dog. And throughout the summer there are free concerts in the park. There is a children's playground adjacent to Powerhouse Park, affectionately called the Tot Lot. Del Mar is one of the most beautiful places in the country for vacationers.
