About Aspen, Snowmass & Durango
The Aspen, Snowmass Durango Area is made up of many vacation destinations. This vacation spot provides the vacationer an experience of the mountain and the snow at a close range. Located in Colorado, the Aspen, Snowmass Durango Area is a quite popular destination, and a vacation here brings you to the heart of the Great Outdoors. In Durango, you're offered a range of picturesque hiking trails. You can hike the back country of The Colorado Trail. These are supported and progressive hiking trips, so you can take the logistical worries out of your mind. A really splendid trail in the Durango Area would be the Overlook Trail. The trail is only .6 miles and is open from May through October. The hike is of course beautiful, but it's also informative. As you walk through the trail, signposts give you information about the geology and ecology of the trail. The trail would take you to the San Juan Mountain Overlook, that would also provide you with a great view of the Animas Valley. You can also come across squirrels, deer, and different birds in this trail.
The city of Aspen is located at the edge of the White River National Forest on the Roaring Fork River. It's a popular ski resort, and it's also culturally famous, with the Aspen Music Festival. The Snowmass Ski Area is also extremely popular with skiers and snowboarders. The ski areas of Aspen and Snowmass are collectively known as Aspen/Snowmass. Other popular travel destinations in the Aspen, Snowmass Durango Area are Dolores and South Fork.
