About Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach, Florida is nestled between the Atlantic ocean and the banana river lagoon on Florida's central east coast. Although increasingly popular, Cocoa Beach has successfully managed to avoid the massive growth of the theme park areas of Central Florida. Surfers call the area around the pier 'the heaven of surfing' in Florida. You can rent jet skis, go parasailing, swim, snorkel, scuba dive, or get delightfully exposed to some warm Florida sun.

While in the Cocoa Beach Area,  try to spend some time at the Lori Wilson Park,  which has the distinction of being one of the coastal hammocks in existence. A "hammock" refers to a beach that borders a natural marsh. The park sits just south of the Hilton hotel.  Golfers, go ahead and play the course at Cocoa Beach Country Club.

 If you are the one with a passion for space, do visit Cape Canaveral, home of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the John F. Kennedy Space Center. A visit to NASA is your chance to learn about the space program. Don't forget to take a tour to see how the rockets and shuttles are prepared and launched. Cocoa Beach is the closest beach to Orlando, so it is natural for  vacationers in Central Florida to hit cocoa beach for some sun and sand . But the door swings both ways! Disney World, Epcot, Sea World, Universal, and all the Orlando attractions are only an hour west of Cocoa Beach.
