Vacation Rentals In Lower Florida Keys
About Vacation Rentals in Lower Florida Keys The beautiful Florida Lower Keys are 30 miles of spectacular expanse between Key West and Marathon. It's easy to set up camp at Lower Keys, as it is 25 miles north of Key West and about 30 miles south of Marathon. It's a completely natural environment that welcomes you, one without malls, fast food restaurants and few buildings! The Lower Keys offer one of the best possibilities for enjoying the natural environment that makes the area so rich. To the north of Lower Keys is the Gulf of Mexico, and to the south is the Atlantic Ocean.
The Bahia Honda State Park is the perfect place for swimming, fishing, bird-watching, snorkeling, or hiking miles of trails. The coral reefs of Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary at Lower Keys are a haven for snorkelers and divers. The reef features over 150 species of fish that include yellowtail, sergeant majors, barracuda, moray eel, angelfish, and parrotfish. Shark and ray species can also be spotted at times. The 50 species of coral that have behind them over 7,000 years of growth include the staghorn, elkhorn, star, brain, and fire corals. The area of Big Pine Key at Lower Keys is already about 100 miles at sea. It's therefore easy to find some fishing holes. Sport fishing charters are available from Cudjoe Key through Big Pine and up to Ohio Key. You could also take part in some flats or backcountry fishing. Observe the flora and fauna of the island, the beautiful coral reef and it's inhabitants, enjoy fishing, snorkeling and diving, and soak in the amazing scenery that characterizes the entire Florida Keys.   |
