About Southern Georgia

Vacations schedules need not be fixed but it should never be fixed if your chosen vacation destination is Southern Georgia! Why? The area offers endless vacation options. Southern Georgia is your ultimate date with the past! The area is brimming with outdoor activities as the region has countless rivers, lakes, streams, and hiking paths that provide ample opportunities for understanding Mother Nature.

Visit Augusta, the dream of every golfer! The world's eyes turn to the most prestigious tournament in the world, The Master's, which takes place at Augusta National Golf Club, every April. The club is probably the most private of private clubs in the world. While Augusta National is not open to the public, beautiful Goshen Plantation is. This course has some of the largest greens in Georgia, and several holes use water hazards, so don't make an errant shot!  Golf is quite popular outside of Augusta as well.

What about a man-made lake as exciting as its natural cousins at Southern Georgia? Set your compass for Lake Sinclair, located near Sparta. The lake has 15,330 acres of surface water and over 400 miles of shoreline and is a maze of coves and inlets that open out into large veins of water. Anglers flock to the lake. For guests of Georgia Vacation Homes, the quiet coves and inlets are a great place for a dip in the generous Georgia sun. There are plenty of outdoor activities on offer - jet skiing, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, and much more.

Madison is billed as the "town that Sherman couldn't burn down." Macon, the geographic center of the state, has influenced the music of the United States of America like no other.
