About Eastern

Eastern Idaho can be called as the place designed by mother nature with a special interest. With Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks as neighbors, the area shares the same spectacular beauty and thrilling adventure minus big crowds. Plan your day in Eastern Idaho with activities like swimming, fishing, boating, skiing (both the water and snow varieties), hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or just surprising your senses with the views on a scenic drive.

Outdoor lovers on vacation at Eastern Idaho make it a point to race to Ashton and visit Harriman State Park, located in the heart of a 16,000 acre wildlife preserve system in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Once known as 'the Railroad Ranch,' the park was the private retreat of the Harrimans and Guggenheims. The Henrys Fork of the Snake River twists and twirls through 9 exciting miles of the park and is a gently rolling, world-famous fly fishing stream. In the winter, cross-country skiers and snow mobilers can enjoy the park's terrain. Eastern Idaho vacations change your vacations into an assortment of excitement, fun and adventure.

The Grand Tetons melt their snow and create waterfalls that you see in Eastern Idaho. Idaho Falls is one major tourist attraction located near the town bearing the same name. The waterfalls serve as a scenic picture frame beyond compare and a take-off point to the many activities that await you in the Idaho Falls area. The Idaho Falls Greenbelt is a bike/running path that stretches along the Snake River and offers some breathtaking views of the falls set amidst a tranquil setting.

As winter chills the Eastern Idaho air, visitors head to the hills for  snowboarding, skiing, snow cart adventures and snowmobiling. The Grand Targhee Winter Resort, which is nestled on the west side of Wyoming's majestic Teton Mountains, serves skiers from Idaho, Wyoming, and guests of Idaho vacation homes. Farnsworth TV and Pioneer Museum, located in Rigby, is a place not to be left out if you happen to be a connoisseur of history.
