About Vacation Rentals in Maine

Maine is a natural wonderland offering vacationers several choices. With miles of scenic coastline, quaint little villages, mountains, streams, and an intricate network of offshore islands, Maine is the place to go if you want to enjoy an active vacation amid the splendors of the Great Outdoors.

The remote portion of Maine's east coast got its name from sailors who preferred a "down east" wind since it gave them a feeling of sailing downhill as they headed east. Today, the Sunrise Coast (so named because the region is the first in America to see the morning sun) is for anyone who prefers a vacation in a natural land where age old traditions are as alive today as they were one hundred years ago. The Highlands Region of Maine offers many an attraction to vacationers of all hues. The area is home to more moose and deer than anywhere else in the state, for instance. The last ice age left in its wake snow-capped mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, and streams that will excite any outdoor enthusiast.

A day in Acadia can include deep sea fishing, hiking, bicycling, kayaking, sailing, golfing, sun bathing, antique hunting, and just about every outdoor exploration imaginable. Bethel, Maine, is the quintessential New England town: a dab of sophistication here, a pinch of history there, all wrapped in a quaint, picturesque village that seems as untouched by the outside world as it was 200 years ago.

The Mid-Coast of Maine is a scenic wonderland comprised of incredible ocean views, back roads that amble past untouched fishing villages, and a wealth of picturesque harbors, rugged peninsulas and majestic lighthouses of breathtaking beauty. Western Maine is not for the faint of heart. The weather is unpredictable and the winters are numbing.
