Minnesota is located just about at the center of the North American continent, and is located in the northern part of the United States, bordering Canada and Lake Superior, as well as the US states of Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota. The state is blessed with extensive woodlands, fertile prairies, and numerous lakes. Originating from one of these lakes, the Mississippi River rises and flows south to the Gulf of Mexico. On its western border the Red River flows north through Lake Winnipeg to Hudson Bay, and the streams that drain eastward into Lake Superior ultimately reach the Atlantic Ocean. It's a natural wonderland that awaits vacationers to Minnesota. You can enjoy winter in Minnesota, both indoors and outdoors. 

Minnesota is indeed a land of clear-as-sky lakes. The Bemidji Lakes Area is actually a concentration of lakes, which are the Cass, Bemidji, Red Lakes, and many other water bodies between these lakes. It's the ideal angling destination. Walleye, northern pike, bass, and perch can all be found here. Pine and birch forest surround these lakes, and here you'll find many family resorts. 

The Lake of the Woods is huge, and has created 65,000 miles of shoreline. The lake is 55 miles wide, and is home to 14,000 islands. Anglers would obviously be attracted by the finest walleye and northern pike fishing, but the area is also home to a wide variety of outdoor activities such as boating, hunting, wildlife watching, and camping.
