Madison in the New Hampshire Lakes Region is an ideal vacation destination any time of the year.  Madison was named for James Madison, fourth President of the United States. Make to trip to the Madison Boulder, billed America's largest glacial traveler. The large rock sits in the woods about a quarter of a mile off the main road near Madison, NH. It is about the size of a 3-story building and, amazingly, bears no resemblance to the rocks in the area. It was probably lopped off the top of a mountain miles away and deposited there by the glaciers during the ice age. The rock is a popular place for beer parties.

Laconia, in the NH Lakes Region in Madison, is home to the annual motorcycle races which attract motorcyclists from all over the country. The New Hampshire International Speedway is located here. Weirs Beach in Madison is both a town and beach area with an arcade, bumper cars, souvenir shops, and plenty of shore side restaurants.
