About Maggie Valley

Maggie Valley is near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, The Blue Ridge Parkway, and Biltmore Estate. Maggie Valley is considered the hub of Western North Carolina, in the Mountains Area. The Great Smoky Mountains is a sanctuary that boasts the world's finest temperate deciduous forest. The park still has unspoiled forests with wildflowers and migrating birds abounding in late April and early May. The peak of autumn is in mid- October. These mountains form the climax of the Appalachian Highlands.

Soco Gardens Zoo, located in Maggie Valley, is a real treat for the young and old alike. In this zoo, you can watch the nonpoisonous snake show, or walk past the poisonous snake pit  with its copperheads, cottonmouths, and rattlesnakes. The most endearing memory of  Maggie Valley community since 1980 is that of 'Miss Maggie' a live woman character-figure, dressed in green, red and yellow who waves at cars that travel through the community. The image is used extensively to advertise the area.
