About Vacation Rentals in Gold Beach

Gold Beach, Oregon, is where the Rogue River meets the Pacific Ocean. It's the ideal location for a romantic getaway, where shopping malls and theme parks don't get in the way. Hiking, water skiing, fishing, wind surfing, white water rafting, and mountain biking are all part of the Gold Beach experience.

The beaches around Gold Beach are surrounded by some majestic cliffs that overlook the ocean. Agate Beach is named after the number of agate stones found here. These stones make for great souvenirs. The meeting spot of the Rogue River and the Pacific ocean provides for a great fishing and white water rafting opportunity. The banks of the Rogue River are home to deer, black bear, river otters, and bald eagles. Steelhead and salmon are found at the best fishing holes here, where guides could take you.

More fishing and rafting opportunities beckon where the Chetco River runs through Brookings, south of Gold Beach. Brookings also features the most northern range of giant redwood trees. Botany students and nature lovers would want to visit the Alfred A. Loeb State Park, that's home to the Myrtlewood trees that grow in northern California and Southern Oregon.

Late December to early March provides for a time of whale watching at Gold Beach, as migrating whales pass by the region. Gold Beach also offers great golf opportunities. The Cedar Bend Golf Course has a deer population, elk, and a bird population as well. The course's nine holes play like 18, with multiple tee locations and  two flags on each green.
